Flood Risk and Diversions for Groundwater Recharge ›​​

Flows in the Cosumnes River are projected to rise above the 7 foot Action/Monitor Stage by noon on March 17, 2025. Diversions will begin at this time and stop when the observed data collected at Michigan Bar reaches 7 foot (via the California Nevada River Forecast Center). ​

The Office of Emergency Services maintains a number of county-wide emergency plans as part of its comprehensive emergency management program to ensure the County and its local jurisdictions are ready to respond to a variety of threats and hazards impacting the area.  These plans are consistent with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and California’s Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and coordinated with state and federal plans.

The County’s Office of Emergency Services (OES) has officially renewed its StormReady designation through September 2030. StormReady is a recognition from the National Weather Service (NWS) that highlights strong emergency preparedness and communication systems.
